Northern Marianas College (NMC) is a public land-grant college in the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI).
After the NMC campus was destroyed by Super Tyhpoon Yutu, the process of rebuilding its As Terlaje campus began at Aug.3, 2023 with a groundbreaking ceremony for a new NMC Student Center. ”Despite typhoons, and despite a pandemic, despite the economic storms, our proa did not sink. We sailed. And when there was no wind we rowed.”Deleon Guerrero, the President of NMC, said in his welcoming remarks. Refering to the official You Tube channel of NMC.
The Student Center will be three stories high, have a total interior space of 45,000 square feet, with multi-purpose hall, student services offices, library, dining area, a bookstore and more.
